Epithelioid Mesothelioma , is a type of cancer that occurs in the mesothelium

Sixty percent of epithelial malignant mesothelioma occurs in the pleural tissues of the lungs. The three types of mesothelioma cells are sarcomatiod mesothelioma, epithelioid mesothelioma, and biphasic mesothelioma. Epithelioid mesothelioma cells are the most common, found in at least half of all cases of malignant mesothelioma.

Malignant mesothelioma of the pleura is divided in three morphological variants: epithelioid, sarcomatous, and biphasic. Histological similarities between epithelioid malignant mesothelioma (EMM) and lung adenocarcinoma are responsible for the difficult differential diagnosis. Epithelioid Mesothelioma Versus Adenocarcinoma Mesothelioma , including epithelioid Mesothelioma , is a type of cancer that occurs in the mesothelium. An important point to note is that malignant epithelioid mesothelioma cells very closely resemble cells of another type of cancer known as adenocarcinoma. The clinical signs for adenocarcinoma of the lung and malignant Mesothelioma are also similar.
